Hartford Colts Look to Build a Lasting Basketball Culture in Connecticut

The Hartford Colts are working to build more than just a basketball team. Founded by Anthony Garcia, the American Basketball Association professional basketball team is focused on creating opportunities for athletes across Connecticut while strengthening the local basketball community through player development, mentorship, and fan engagement.

"We wanted to build something that's bigger than basketball," Garcia said. "A pipeline where kids from as early as third grade all the way up to guys coming out of college looking for an opportunity to play pro ball have a home."

Following a successful inaugural season that ended with an Elite Eight appearance, the Colts are preparing for an even bigger year. Returning center Chaise Daniels said the team has already built a strong foundation and is focused on taking the next step.

"As a team, I just want us to win it all," Daniels said. "I feel like we deserve it."

While a championship remains the goal, Garcia believes the organization's greatest success will come from its impact off the court by developing young athletes and giving Connecticut basketball players a place to grow close to home.

"We want to bring a championship back to Hartford," Garcia said, "but success is really about how well we impact the basketball community."

Through signing day, open tryouts, and continued community involvement, the Hartford Colts hope to become a lasting part of Connecticut's basketball culture.
